Well, lets see, the last two weeks have been a whirlwind. Christmas was a bit unusual this year. I'm just going to leave it at that. Yep, that's the best way.
For New Years, we drove to South Carolina to celebrate my Dad's 90th birthday. I really don't think he had any idea who we were or what we were doing there. I know I will be glad to have the pictures with him but will always remember his blank stares and his looks of confusion. I hope I never get to the point where I don't know my children and grandchildren.
After a dinner at Olive Garden, my wife and I drove across the state to where our oldest daughter and her family live. We spent a fun day at their house, but my back pain was really giving me a fit from all the riding. It's amazing how pain can really affect your overall mental state.
We got up early the next morning and headed to Ft Stewart where our youngest daughter is stationed. Sadly, by the time we got to this point of the trip, I was in so much pain and just physically exhausted. Like a jerk, I slept most of the day away in the motel room. I feel really bad about that! Tuesday morning found us on the final leg of our trip, home.
Wednesday afternoon was my appointment to have the nerves in my lower back, L2-5, burned. Sounds kind of strange but it worked. Each day since then I am able to do a little more without pain. Well, without the same pain. I wish I could have had this done before the trip. I suffered a lot!
I don't remember what day it was but I found out that one of my cousins in Texas died. I haven't seen Lin in many years but remember him well from my childhood. He was quite a character.
Last but not least, My 14th grandchild was born yesterday! She is such a cutie. She is my youngest son and his wife's daughter. What a wonderful day it was!!! Looking forward to many years of spoiling her along with the other grandkids.
